I am uncomfortable with the notion that a bunch of DHS bureaucrats are going to sit down with everyone's credit card records and start trying to infer potential criminal behavior from them. Me, too. That's why we have a system of warrants and a fourth amendment and why no one does that, including the Bush administration, best I can tell. Trying to infer enemy behavior is quite another matter. We have to keep in mind that there is a difference between criminal justice and military intelligence. I think folks lose track of that sometimes.
