Gib, as I explained, that's back to front: <"... a negative correlation develops between income per capita and population growth. As the incomes of families rise, the numbers of children they have declines."

Haven't you noticed this?

They should have written "As the number of children declines, the incomes of families rise". Which means the rest of it isn't worth reading either, which I confirmed by reading it.

As I explained in my previous post,http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=22041036 along with why IQ keeps rising despite the super bright having fewer children per person in any particular country [if that is actually true, which I also doubt as other claims seem to be false], women having fewer children means they have more money, since they can work. Which is probably not the main factor. Having fewer children is just a choice women make. Neither is it because they don't have to have lots because they don't die now.

Having contraceptives available, and living in a different, urbanized, non-tribal, less territorial way of life, led to a shift in cultural norms.

The writers managed to get the correlation part right, namely that educated women with degrees have fewer children than the average woman, [assuming that is true], but then, not suprisingly, got tangled up in causation.

Anyway, it would be interesting to see actual data rather than urban myths which conflict with facts as found by Flynn, which show intelligence rising around the world.

They are obviously liberal arts people, not engineers.
