What a great story, George! Your Mom was a very special lady to do that!

Reminds me of a story that happened to me when I was a kid...I had a 4th grade birthday party, boys and girls came, and one boy brought me a BIG bottle of some sort of spicey "perfume" It probably was in the price range you referred to...<ggg> I really liked the boy who brought it, but didn't like the smell of the stuff at all. But of course, didn't tell him that.

Then the next year, we had a Christmas pageant...(yes, Regular School, and a Jesus and the Manger, and Mary and Joseph, and all the Wise Men, plus a bunch of Angels....!!!!---I'm not THAT old, but compared to today....thats one of the differences between the 1950's and today)

Anyhow, the little boy was going to be one of the Wise Men....He needed something that smelled of spice for what he was to carry on the pillow. I volunteered that I had just the thing. Little did either of us realize that it was such a BIG sacrifice. Come the "Pageant" Day, he proudly carried it in, everything went well until the very end. He was on the way out, and it fell off the pillow, and broke. OOOHHHHHeeeeee! EVERYONE in the room really cleared out fast after that. <gg>
