2006 will be remembered as the year it all came unglued.
DOW 11011 should end year around 10400 after dipping again below 10k, possibly 93-9400.
Inflation has to be acknowledged. Stonyfield yogurt from .89 to .99 at Whole Foods. A small but very typical example I experienced on the way in. Phelps Dodge Slashes Fourth-Quarter Profit Forecast on Higher Prices, Sales Shortfalls

PHOENIX (AP) -- Phelps Dodge Corp., one of the world's largest copper producers, said Tuesday fourth-quarter earnings will fall well below previous expectations, with higher copper prices, shortfalls in production and sales, and more one-time costs dragging down profits. Its shares tumbled more than 9 percent in premarket trading.

The company cut its earnings estimate to $1 to $1.30 per share for the quarter, down sharply from a prior forecast of $4.15 to $4.40 per share.
