The OC is just a collection of exurbs of LA. It has no identity of it's own. It's home to some of the most sterile, lifeless "planned communities" I've ever seen. But it IS very clean, in a "Stepford" kind of way.

My father was an ad executive and was offered a job promoting Irvine when it was nothing. He'd have had to move there, and they sent him a bound glossy prospectus, "New Worlds of Irvine" that I remeber checking out as a child. I'm really glad he didn't make that move!
