rose~

thousands of miles away bombs are
falling and the stars are not moved
by it. none of it is important or
all of it is.

that's just the problem...
the bombs should not be falling,
and people should be spending
more time looking at the stars....

i was just writing to a friend a
few minutes ago.. about something
related to "being in the moment"...

I wrote:

sometimes, when i'm paddling my canoe
in some a secluded bay on a lake
surrounded by tall white pines
and with no humans in sight,
i take a deep breath and feel like laughing
because it feels like i am breathing in the
whole forest and lake around me...
It's kind of intoxicating......

imo, some of what seems to be gone
out of many people's lives is the
sensory enjoyment of the world...
doesn't have to be a forest or a lake,
but it does require not living life
vicariously through a tv screen
or similar...

at least, that's how it seems to me.
