It's not just Abramoff's personal money, it's his commands to certain tribes to give certain monies. Howard Dean claims that not a single dollar was even suggested to be given to any democrats by Abramoff. In other words, any tribes who gave to democrats did so wholly apart from anything having to do with Abramoff. The RNC list of democrats who got money is grossly dishonest and misleading. It calls the donors "Abramoff associates" but fails to say that all such donations were given without any connection to or approval from Abramoff. In short, Abramoff and his accomplices are on trial here. And there's not a single democrat amongst them. So democrats are not even relevant to the issue.
