Just for the hell of it, I wandered over to Gateway (Dell isn't selling 15" Duo yet) and decked out a laptop to entry-level McBook standard. Impossible to account adequately for iLife, so I tossed a copy of Adobe Elements in there and called it a wash. Bottom line: as predicted, the McBook prices out to within $100 of the equivalent Gateway hardware.

This is *great* news for Apple users.
