The public refuses to go gaga. No excitement.

I don't know if this is just around here but nobody I talk to has any clue where the market is. If I mention that the market is at nearly 5 year highs they are surprised. The DOW is breaking 11K and few I speak with even know that.

Yes its unscientific, anecdotal, and potentially meaningless. But I wonder if this is similar elsewhere.
