Going after the employers only avoids the issue of making their service to our country legal.

I think both are at fault. While I regret their unfortunate circumstances, the illegals know they are breaking the law. And I don't appreciate that the US has to pick up the slack because the Mexican or some Central American gov't is corrupt and not doing its job. The US has become a major revenue dependency for these countries.

At the same time, if we do crack down there will be some major economic dislocation in the states most affected by illegals and their services. If the crackdown were done too quickly, I would not be surprised if it threw California into recession.
