The Business Review (Albany) - Wednesday jan 11 2005 $400M nano-research center at UAlbany named among top business developments The state University at Albany's $400 million deal to create a nanochip research and development center with ASML Holding NV and IBM made Business Facilities publication's 13th annual business facilities economic development awards. UAlbany's award was listed as a Silver Award as one of the country's biggest deals. The new International Multiphase Partnership for Lithography Science and Engineering (IMPLSE) is ASML's first research and development center outside Europe and will bring together a network of over 50 high-tech companies from across the state of New York, the publication said. The Gold Award went to the Virginia Economic Development Partnership Project. Philip Morris USA is investing $300 million in New Richmond, Va., to build the Research & Technology Center. The project will create 500 new jobs, including scientists, lab technicians, and lab support.
