Tues...14:05 LRCX Lam Research: Lam's Dielectric Etch momentum has peaked - Moors & Cabot (38.84 -0.63)

Moors & Cabot's field checks are suggesting that LRCX's design momentum in the dielectric etch segment has peaked, as they believe TXN has chosen Tokyo Electron's dielectric etch tool for its second 300mm fab, called R-fab, located in Richardson, Texas. Their checks also suggest that INTC, despite expectations that they would begin ordering tools from LRCX, has instead decided to stay with Tokyo Electron for dielectric etch. They say a dielectric etch turnaround is currently a key focus for Tokyo Electron management, and their checks suggest they are seeing success with their new S.S.C.M. Ultra dielectric etch tool. Additionally, they say Intel has decided to stay with Hitachi for silicon etch. At the $39-$40 level, they believe most of the good news surrounding LRCX and expected solid 1H06 performance is already priced into the stock, and that upside from these levels is limited.
