Paul,

Many times the people that are good in start-up mode are unhappy in corporate mode. Especially talented people, who can be unique in their personalities.

Lead engineers? In what disciplines? At the level these guys are at it seems that one had better concentrate on a very narrow set of technologies or one becomes unfocused and not top-of-the-pile. Tony was I am told, very focused.

So, is Juniper to be a one-trick wonder? From this and the normal FUD it is starting to sound like it.

Customers really DO want (yes I am going to say it) "end-to-end solutions".

I think of it this way...Having a really fast wheel-bearing (Juniper switch)doesn't help me when I want to go shopping or deliver product, or build my network. I need a whole vehicle.

Cisco can provide that. I am hard-pressed to name any others that can, especially not a conglomeration of dog-eat-dog competitors as have backed Juniper in a last ditch effor to "Stop Cisco".

Doesn't it remind you of the old "ABM" (Anyone But Microsoft)days.
We all know how far _that_ went.

Just some thoughts...

BTW: Absolutely "Killer" graphic in your profile! How long did it take and who was the ingeneous person that did it? Also it is nice to see people that have their priorities straight, take good care of them.

Later...
