The following is additional information on the conference posted on AOL along with responses from myself and Skipard:

I think Jim's evaluation was pretty good, however I want to add or revise a few things and ask that skipard or jim respond to what I might add. First of all Biolase does not claim that the lazerbrush will "whiten" teeth, only that it will brighten them. There is a difference and 7 shades might be an over exaggeration. Ask your dentist about that one. We'll have to see the clinical studies. Mr. Lapoint is sending us one so we'll keep you informed on how it works (we will measure the shades). Second, they do not claim that it can cut amalgam, but it actually might (Skipard?) but that is not the way they intend to rid of amalgam. Third, yes the handpieces were very propietary but the 90 degree handpiece was quite large and a concern to the dentists. The company was very honest and agreed to the problem. A new one is in the works and so are other additons being made to the handpieces as problems or should I say concerns occur. They are working quite well with their german partners in fine tuning the externalities of this machine. Fourth, I got a different impression on the Japan story. Word had it that they did not need approval (Skipard?) Fifth, as for dermalase, they just finished a study where they found the best application for skin ablation using the HKS at 2.5 watts (?) and then turning off the water and making a pass with the laser without the water to coterize (spelling?) any bleeding. The results were quite impressive compared next to skin that was charded and bleeding from a regular laser or scalpel. The last point is the anasthesia. It sounds as though a mixture of lidacaine and epinephrin are being mixed with the water to act as an instant anesthesia. This is a quick overview and I might not bwe clear with all but as Jim I can say that there was a lot of poitive in this meeting and management is excellent. No they're not about hype, but with HKS technology it could eadily turn into hype. This is the technology that all the laser companies are after and only BLTI has it. One last word, as my brother was using the machine on a tooth he decided to see how this thing really worked....he proceeeded to take a wart off the palm of his hand. No pain, no blood, no redness. All around were in awe.

ESWipf DDS,
Thanks for the clarifications on my report. Three areas where my impression is different:
- Dr. Eversole was very clear that the Millennium would not cut amalgam or gold. At one point he said that he thought that there is really more going on than just hydrokinetic action but could not yet tell what it is. The fact that it would not cut amalgam was one of the pieces of evidence he gave for this.
- With the LaZerBrush, Don La Point was the one who said 7 shades whitening (at least I thought he said whitening) in the Sun. morning meeting. I confirmed that with him separately and he said that it is comparable to using trays. I'll look forward to hearing the results of your tests.
- With the Japanese approvals, I'm just going by what they told me when I asked how long approvals take there. Could be some confusion as to what, in fact, needs to be approved. I'll try to find out from the company.

Sorry we didn't meet at the meeting. Were you the guy wearing the sling? I was one of the people in awe as your brother removed the wart.

Jim

7 shades of whitening is not an exaggeration,in certainspot patients they tested those were the results. It will whiten by breaking down biofilm mechanism.

Amalgalms, for the time being forget it.It won't work.

90% hand peice, under development is shorter, smaller more efficient pice.

Japan 6-12 monthsHas to go through SHONIN our FDA,and is ongoing approval process.
