Any such overturn would be a major step, but the actual legal logic would be trivial. I'm nore sure he would try to overturn it.

By the time any case come to the SC (especially wrt abortion), legal arguments from both sides will be on pretty solid grounds.

It is not like the arguments are going into a computer and the computer program decides. It will be decided by human beings making a judgement call that will come as close to their personal views as possible. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know what side Alito is on. And over time, guess what side Alito's decisions will be on.

But let's get real. Everybody understands this and that is the understanding of all of his staunches supporters. All this legal, schmegal stuff is a lot of hooey.

He supported trying to keep Princeton the way it was in the past with few if not any women and minorities enrolled.

I'm not sure that is an accurate statement.

It was only recently (1985) that Alito cited membership to a Princeton Alumni club which raison d'etre was to resist admission of women and minorities. Why else would he belong to this club?

Re: #4 - Could you be specific about how you think he was "weasily"?

Even Republican Senator Lindsy Graham, a strong supporter, said "And I hope you'll understand if any of us come before a court and we can't remember Abramoff, you'll tend to believe us."
