It is no news in the abstract so that the stock price dropped in the overall bull market today. As I mentioned before, live attenuated flu virus vaccine is no better than dead virus vaccine because it can't produce life immunity and could only be used for few years. It has very short life time left after long time clinical trials. No one in the world could produce save attenuated virus vaccines with same method repeatly. When flu virus antigen changed AVIR must put big money and time to produce new live attenuated vaccine but dead vaccine is ready for use as soon as new flu virus isolated. The nosal deliveried dead flu vaccine is also on trial, which will announce the death sentence of AVIR's vaccine soon. The company has said it expect to send application to FDA in the middle of the 1998 so that the vaccine could not be used for the 1998 - 1999 season. Where is the income? where is the milestone form the big biotech company? Those indicate no big company interesting the vaccine of the AVIR. It could confuse some small investigaors that since the vaccine is nosal deliveried so that it will save big money for vaccination, which is a big lie. Last week run up in small volume is only the continous manipulation to prevent it droppoed pass the gap but it will certainly drop to the low teens since it will have no news for months. IPIC and ABTI are very good examples of the biotech stock hype but reality will prevail evantually. Please check the charts of these two. Covered some short when it dropped and short again when it run up.
