Dear Investors Hub Member:
I am sending this note for a variety of reasons.? The first being, it has been sometime since I last wrote the entire community, so I wanted to see how everybody was doing.? Second, I wanted to point out several new features and policies, including a free liftetime subscription to the site, ad-free.? Third, invite everybody back that stopped in when the site was under major construction and haven't been back since.? And finally, I want to point out some rather outstanding boards that are populating the streets of iHub.
First, for those that don't know me, allow me to introduce myself. I am Matt Brown.? I founded and run the site.? I get great enjoyment out of discussing the equity markets and teaching what I know to others in a professional environment -- which is why I started the site.? I post under the name of IH Admin (Matt) and am always available to settle site problems, fix bugs, or discuss new ideas.? You can find me hanging out on the Question and Answer Board (ticker:MATT).? Stop by and introduce yourself, if you haven't already.
I hope everyone is doing well.? The market hasn't been very friendly to anyone, so I've been playing it quiet on the trading front as well.? But the summer is about over and the boards are starting to light up.? Especially some of the OTC BB boards.? Plus, the new ECN trade routing proposal for the OTC BB will further increase interest.? I think most people will agree we are now approaching the bottom as we head into the fourth quarter.? We shall see.
New Features I can't even remember the last time I sent an e-mail to everyone (the site was pretty small, then), so I will go over some of the best features that iHub has to offer.? IH has always been about innovating and improving the flow of communications regarding stock discussions.? We've added some pretty cool features that appear to be working very well.? First thing you will notice is a newly improved Board and Message View.? More organized with more features.? A much faster site with slimmer code.? Easier navigation.? Some other features that come to mind are Private Messages within the site (no need for e-mails -- better privacy and faster!), a good Favorites page, integrated E-mail lists for each board, Live Chat Room, Hot Lists to show community hot spots, and many other features that leave the other sites behind in regards to technology and user interface.
New Policies Most of the new policies that will be taking effect soon can be found here: investorshub.com d=170519 The main issues being a few changes in the Chairman of the Board concept that will improve the flow of posts and the general atmosphere, and the other being going to a subscription model. The site has grown to a point where spammers, whackos, and those with the sole intent of disrupting are finding their way here. So time to stop them in their tracks.? I am implementing a small charge as an entrance fee into the site.
For now, that fee will be $50 for a lifetime membership.? It will scale upwards at various membership intervals.? This is being put in place to ensure that the quality of discussions do not degrade. For everybody that is currently a member, you are grandfathered in to the new system.? You have all helped to build the site to what it is today, so there is no fee. You will get all the new advanced features that come along with the new platform, such as No Banner Ads, Viewing 10 Messages at a time, Real-Time Search, and some market data applications.? I am also working on getting Level 2 and streaming applications on the site very soon.
I am closing the free membership to the site on Tuesday, September 4th, 2001.? Once closed, everybody that is currently a member will be allowed to refer 2-3 people to get free, lifetime subscriptions.? On the signup form, they will simply need to list you as the referrer and then you send me a private message or e-mail stating that your friend wishes to get in by using one of your free referrals.? I'll post more on this, on my Q&A board. investorshub.com Once the public, anybody is allowed model is out the door, I see more higher quality boards moving to the site and being created by current users, as the atmosphere suddenly becomes one of an upscale, gentlemen's club.
Invite I would like to invite everybody who hasn't been to the site in a long time, to check it out again.? You will notice a tremendous number of improvements and site enhancements, along with cleaner pages, no ads, and fast loading pages.? Take a look around the community and let me know what you think.
Outstanding Boards Finally, I would like to point out some of the boards on iHub that have a lot of people talking.
Patsy's Five And Under - investorshub.com -- Focused on OTC BB and small cap stocks.? Very friendly and knowledgeable group.
Archie's Corner - investorshub.com -- A great group of stock traders with varying perspectives on the market.
Bernard's OTC BB Pulse - investorshub.com -- Focused on OTC BB as well.? He publishes a report on the entire OTC BB market daily.
Jenna's Market Gems - investorshub.com -- Another one of the largest boards on Silicon Investor that made the move to iHub.? Has been with us for a while.? Has a focus on technical analysis and general market trends.? Position trades, etc.
LG's Market Direction Discussion - investorshub.com -- One of the largest boards on Silicon Investor that recently moved over to iHub - has a focus on market indexes and big-cap stocks.
And the list goes on and on, including folks like Ike Latif, xxrayeyes, Vendit, SSP & Jim Bishop, Georgia Bard, and more....
I hope to see everyone there and feel that the issues covered in this e-mail will help create the premier investment discussion site.
Regards,
Matt Brown IH Admin (Matt) matt@investorshub.com investorshub.com
