The kids are required to produce an advertisement for a dog for sale. They both had fun Sunday night on Microsoft Publisher producing a full page multi color ad with all of the content required. I spent about 3 to 4 hours with them, one after the other.

Two days later the teacher said something like, "be creative, don't just put words ona piece of paper." My son wanted to take a suggestion she made, to make a catalog. After much grumbling, I agreed to help him with that. he had complained about having to type the original project, so the new typing was sure to upset him. He ended up producing a slick looking 8 page 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch catalog in Publisher.

My daughter wanted to produce a big die with factoids on each facet. I spent over 30 minutes tonight figuring out that Visio was not a good choice, nor Word. Photoshop was not either. I finally designed a new template in Publisher, after which I turned my daughter over to do the work. She cut and attached like an 8 year old. Granting her limitations, it came out looking very slick. It just fit inside a personal check shipping box for transportation.

I helped each deal with the software. I did a little work for each. they did almost all of the work. If they don't get at least b pluses, it would imply to me that their teacher did not believe they did their own work.
