Just had lunch the other day with an 83 year old friend who has lung cancer and who is not going to make it. However, she was a feminist at age 55 and worked with Betty Friedan..Gloria Steinem and others in the birth of the woman's movement and NOW... She has some very strong opinions but she is a fighter and has always been. Some of her life experiences have led her to where she was at age 55, like an early sexual abuse, rape and divorces.. She was a professional woman all her life, just finished a book which I am reading .. It has yet to be published.. but it is excellent... Her one statement.. It's so hard now to walk where I have been walking for 28 years... over the same steps.PROTESTING... as we watch Alito being confirmed and the possibility of the reversal of Roe vs. Wade.. SOME women have fought for women's rights for so long... and their history is part of the book. It is good reading for both sexes as liberation is dependent on both sexes accepting equality . I thought today. WE have no woman on the Supreme Court. Patriarchy is back in style... and a lot women's rights that were part of the sixties and seventies are in jeopardy..
