While the Midwest may be suffering from the effects of a credit bubble, SAC may be facing the double whammy of credit AND real estate bubble at the same time.

The conundrum of the year so far is the inconsistency between MBAA loan app data for the last quarter of 05 vs the robust production of CFC, NEW and NFI (Dec just released).

The NFI release is so far showing that rise in WAC is not affecting loan volume. May be the borrowers with 2-28 recasts have no choice but to take whatever they can? If true, then defaults should follow soon?
