I think the euros view the iranians as europeans, not arabs or just muslims. If the mullahs vanished tomorrow, iran would likely follow the turk model to enter the EU etc. A nuclear iran will deter the euros. The Germans appear passionate about saving iran from this. It certainly isnt europes love for israel that motivates them here. I also think fear of russian dominance of iran weighs on them also. Hostile oil powers added to uncertain saudis and crazy venezualans make the oil market vulnerable.
