How is it possible for the US to devalue against China when China pegs to the US$?

Then, As I asked, why would the US WANT to do it anyway? It makes no sense. That is the kicker. This guy thinks it would be a good thing to do, as if driving up the cost of goods 50% overnight would be a good thing or solve anything.

What exactly would it do besides bring upon a depression?
