It seems only a matter of time until H5N1 infects wild birds in the US followed by domestic birds that free range. That alone will fuel some level of panic and could drive the Federal government to push faster drug development.

But my guess is that the commercial bird production will not be exposed. The precautions taken by large growers are pretty extreme.

Shorting BCRX in the face of probable H5N1 infection of the wild bird population in the US is a prescription for big losses.
