Unfortunately it is becoming a planet of weeds. Just within the last year locally we've been infested by a nasty bird called the European Starling, and an invasive weed called Purple Loosestrife. I sure hope we can eradicate them before they get fully established.

We also had a small outbreak of rats a couple years ago, but managed to kill them off. Anchorage is still the only major port city in North America without rats, so I guess this would be a good place to hide out during an epidemic of the bubonic plague.
