I edited my post, added some more to my rant.
I firmly believe that any printer, either than a photo printer, should a toner printer. They will last years.
My current home printer is a HP 4P bought in 1993, and never been cleaned never had any problems. If that was an ink printer, I am willing to bet it would have worn out.
My office printer, bought in 1997, has only needed one cleaning, and that printer prints tens of thousands of pages per year. I may change the toner 3 times a year in busy years, and I always use OEM never aftermarket toner cartridges.
Most people don't realize the cost savings using toner. For most people I would still recommend buying a toner based machine. If you keep track of your ink purchases, it may surprise you after a couple of years.
I have done lots of tests with printers over the past 18 years, have had at least 12 printers, 2 of which are still being used, and they are my HP laser printers. Ink printers are throw aways now a days.
I just really have a hard time with ink printer manufactures and the cost of ink, and I really hate the chips (that turn off your printer when ink is low) they put into these cartridges too.
Sorry, I’m very biased when it comes to printers. |
