Republicans have slashed every pro-minority program since the beginning. They are against giving a helping hand to minorities in any way. They villainizing poverty, and while they take advantage of cheap illegal immigrant labor, they demonise them too. Just read Michelle Malkin's racist rants.

Tom Delay said it accurately for the rightwing when asked why he dodged the Vietnam War draft. He said there were plenty of blacks and Hispanics to fight in his place.

All of the old Dixiecrat post-segregation Old South crowd is now rightwing GOP. It's Bush's base. Back in 68 those people would have voted for George Wallace.

The elite GOP is an all-white world except for a few token Condi Rice types. I remmeber going to a GOP fundraiser once and it was 95% white guys in white shirts and black ties all beating their chests angrily. Hardly any women, much less minorities. In the Kerry campaign we had fundraisers in which male whites were the minority.
