but i do ride the lifecycle for about 250 calories

I didn't appreciate what burning 250 calories was like
until this morning.

I walked the treadmill for a half hour and found myself
having to raise the incline and turn up the speed in order
to get to that target before the 30 minute clock wound down.

There was an older woman next to me making it look easy.
Her legs were moving a lot faster than mine.

I could here her mocking me inside her head.

I felt her peeking at my settings to see how much faster
she was going.

So I raised the incline to 10.
And got the speed up to 4.

That ought to teach her I said to myself.

But then I heard her scoff me again as she cranked hers up.

Luckily for me her machine timed out.

I continued to chug along for another minute until she was
gone and then quickly turned the settings way back down
again before I fainted out of exhaustion.

Anyway I feel good.

I certainly enjoy walking outdoors more.
In the gym there is a lot of noise.
Metal music pumping along with the free weights.
Dance music pumping along with the thighs in the step
aerobics class.
TV's with the latest in Iraq, the latest in sports, the
latest in weather.

My moonlit early morning walks leave me feeling much more
at peace.

Regardless, both leave me feeling good about myself.
Tomorrow I'll push to burn 275 cals.
