The parallel that should be drawn, is the struggle to rise above the oppression of extremist groups; to live in a society that offers relative autonomy for the individual and a system that supports equitable justice. One that is not singulary bound to extremist tribal loyalties, political extremes, obsoleted indoctrination, etc. One that offers a fresh and renewable social order that is fair and just and that honors liberty.

A position that agrees to simply let things disintegrate into the despare and corruption that has always been is unacceptable. It denies any and all human cause.
