Any opinions on the Guardian Angels coming to Toronto... The Mayor says more police on the street is the solution... we are still waiting... and he campaigned against more police and rather spend the dough on waterfront improvement ..... Until we get a new government, we are not going to get a solution. Things like the Guardian Angels are symptoms of a solution, when the mayor and police accept we have a problem, along with the justice system which hasn't yet, then we can start to address the issues. No negotiation on Gun Crimes (use of the gun is the first issue) That takes an announcement from the Justice Minister of Canada that any use of a gun in a crime is to be tried. The only exception is when the criminal turns in the person he got the gun from, and that is worth some time off the possession of a firearm charge. The second thing to announce is that any use of a gun in a crime requires a show cause hearing. The third thing to announce is that anyone using a gun to commit a crime is going to be deported if it is in any way possible. And then we need to start patrolling our borders with people who understand just how porous they are.
