agree with you: it's trigger-happy rednecks who patrol the Mexican border who are the problem... Tell me, Darleen, when did "illegal immigrant" become synonymous with "terrorist" in people's minds?

I don't think the average person in LA thinks of illegals as terrorists. To me in life we find a reason to justify our own inability, in this case it is the bigot who feels the illegal is why they have a problem getting a job. They don't stop to think that wage price is the reason. If they do stop to think they do not understand how people can live on so much less. We must protect our income at all costs and so Asia smiles.

Long story short I ended up pondering about the fence and what would it solve? At the time I heard about the kidnapping which I have not yet learned the result of my initial instinct was to protect however with more knowledge the very protection called fence does not seem like a long term solution.

The average illegal who attempts to cross the border does so because on the this side there is hope of dollars where on their side there is none. Some how we should make this a very easy process for these people. Our economic conditions will govern just how many people will attempt to cross that border for the legitimate purpose of work. No work no people Many jobs many people. About all we do with fences is increase the income of those who operate illegal transportation services. We should be trying to teach that the right type of law benefits all.

Then the how to do to me became tracking card issued as a person walked across the border. Transit has to be provided that would take people to where labor was needed. (I realize that any solution opens up a whole can of worms this one could become an invasion of personal privacy) VBG or terrible truth. Technology can produce systems that protect both sides.

Mexico has enormous problems their people do not know that law attempts to protect. Many of the people who cross the border are non visible rabbits who are running scared. This group can't get help from the US law and they live in fear of Mexican non law. Perhaps by showing our laws prime purpose is to protect we give the will to force change in their own system. Their problems are so acute that about all we will do with fence building is defuse their internal anger into anger that is focused on the US and it's fence. Proof Iraq. ( The people do not trust the US. I do not believe in war)

Organized crime is organized so fences do not deter that group. We have to do something positive to create long range trust as both nations sit right beside each other. The sooner we address the problem to avoid future problems the less costly it will be for US.
