I am a believer that we have to take both sunni and shiaa forms of islamic fundamentalism seriously. The Shiaa strain waits for their equivalent of the messiah and the sunni give us wahabism. Both will use terrorism and wmds when applicable and when available. The Shiaa version dies with iran's current regime and the overwhelming majority of the iranian population has no love for this brand of extreme shiaa islam. If we do in fact have three years to rid ourselves of irans mullahs or at least this super fundamentalist. If we are basing our policy of containment on this, we must take actions that will speed this result. I am not sure bombing nuclear facilities or even sanctions work to this effect. Anyone have any ideas along these lines?
