M, Not everyone is a dog person :O) And these are definitely not doggies for you unless you are... but they know their place in the pack and that is reinforced as a matter of course in our daily lives... I have far greater fear my 6 year old could get shot at school than harmed by one of my dogs... Actually they are extremely protective.. sometimes annoyingly so... When my 12 year old became a latch key kid I was greatly mollified by the miracle of cellular technology which allows us to stay in touch while she is travelling ... and once home.. she has two bodyguards.. We also get very few annoying solicitations at the door anymore...

They are not vicious, but a bit feral which is not the same thing.. Too many dogs today are so dumbed down in instincts that they are more like furniture than companions..

We are always careful with new visitors.. Also we have two cats (they love it outdoors and are always returning with treats for us... as in mice and birds... the occasional snake or mole..) they get on fine with the doggies... although when the doggies get rambunctious the cats look on in disgust and go off somewhere else :o)
