when I send a document to the printer I have to wait till it's done to use the computer. Any idea what I need to do?

No guarantees but one thing you can do is check the spooling settings for your printer. To do this click on Printer and Faxes, right click on your printer, select Properties, and then select the Advanced Tab. Make sure the "Print directly to the printer" control is not selected. If this feature is selected it turns off background printing. The two controls labelled "Spool print document so program finishes printing faster" and "Start printing immediately" should be selected.
