crabbe,
They are not half wild. What I meat by a bit feral is that they are only about 160 years removed from the dingo heritage. The instincts are not in the same vein as pit bulls as they are herding dogs but are keen nonetheless. When we run across deer in the woods they herd them (or try to) but are not aggressive. Most terriers are not a good idea with kids and in fact any dog can be a danger.

Working sled dogs to me would be a worry, never mind an actual half wild dog.. When I was young we lived in northern Manitoba between The Pas and Flin Flon... There were many working dogs at the time... We had a dog that was half wolf... but all I really re,ember is that was very very big... Then again we had bears and whatnot also so a big dog was good...

knowing their place in the pack You are correct. That is why I mentioned that we consistently reinforce the hierarchy. It is also for the animal's safety.

regards
Al
