ok....

they are hoidy toidy.

but i have history with the broncos. i used to do waterboy duties at Colorado School of Mines when the AFL Donkeys used their football field for their practices. That was in 63 I believe. I was eleven or twelve. My mom was the secretary for the Chancellor so I was allowed to play on the field. They put me to work carrying beers.

Every day Coors dropped off two kegs. Big ones. One at each goal post. Defense worked one end and offense the other. All the linemen would run over to the goalposts and draw a Coors and then run back the formations to practice. After an hour or so they hung around the goalposts more than practice.

And the coaches were all chain smokers and would talk in a group in the middle of the field. The waterboy would bring them beers while they stood there and talked.

The old Broncos were the fans team. The fans lived and breathed football Bronco style. The Broncs were never successful and the stadium was always full. Always a sellout. People that left the stands early were booed. Tailgating was standard practice.

Families passed down their ticket rights when they died. If your mom and dad had bronco seats it was important to treat them the best. So they would leave both seats to you and your wife....... Seriously. That happened a lot. Tore families up.

We hated the Raiders. Did I say? We hated the Raiders.

This new group is all about the money. Its business. I don't believe for a minute that they are real football anymore. These guys are so well tuned they all play the same note. I respect it but the fun is gone. It left when Elway retired. Now they are just another well run organization.

So be it.

Heroes die hard. Football is about the last thing I enjoy that is part of general society. So if the Broncs make it I will be tickled. If Pittsburgh makes it that will be almost as good. I really wanted Chicago to make it. I love dubears as the old NFL. If we are going to lose I hope its from an old NFL team.

Like Pittsgurgh.

damn rose. i have been watching nfl for 45 years. i am old.........
