When I was a boy (I am probably about your age) there were sobriety tests...walking a straight line...hopping on one foot etc. Thankfully, technology has evolved and we now have virtually foolproof testing methods.
You talk about a "bright" future and consistently refer to some obscure past in an attempt to make a point and it is a feeble effort to shore up your support for drug use.

Regarding your reference to "idiocy" let's take it a step further and say that it is lunacy to endorse drug use without the means for roadside impairment testing.

I simply do not want my granchildren killed by drunk drivers OR drugged drivers.

Re: no I don't believe we need to wait for roadside testing to come of age, partly because need for roadside testing will prompt someone to come up with a way to test at the roadside read this over and give it a bit of thought....a few innocent deaths would create the need you figure is mostly irrelevant.
