Ted, There is only one company with employment between 5-10K......that's the state utility company and they ain't going anywhere.

There's got to be others, or else the Maryland legislature would have set the limit at 5K in the first place. For example, I remember Giant Food being the biggest grocery store chain there:

Already 100 stores in Maryland. You're telling me they have less than 50 employees per store?

EDIT: The NY Times reports that four companies are above the 10K limit in Maryland. Giant Food is one of them:

Of course, Giant already meets the legislature's minimum requirements for health care. But on a different note, if four companies each employ more than 10K Marylanders, I'm pretty sure there are a lot more companies who employ 5-10K Marylanders. And that would counter your assertion that only the utilities fall into that category.
