First, it is not an actual "steady growth" in option's cost, it is an increase in accord to accounting formula. Then, they all are thinking on cutting back in new options grants, which correlates with the sentiment I expressed. Third, I have a very little idea how did they (the magazine, or companies) calculated the amount of expenses. Did they count for five-years-old outstanding grants? I doubt it.
