la-

have you made a new year's resolution
to turn over a new leaf and wean yourself
off the net, or have you grown weary of
our mindless chatter and decided to seek
stimulation elsewhere, or has our collective
deodorant failed us???

it's sorta like number one. i didn't have
much access to the net for a month while
traveling. i also didn't have much access
to tv or that awful, commercial news machine.

i found myself dealing with life on a personal
basis and being present in the moment - locally.
i saw a lot of other people living that way
too. it's a pleasant way to live.

since i've returned to the US i've tried to
avoid that nasty group think that everyone
walks around in... millions of people all
talking to each other about some kind of
disastrous events that some news wire picked
up and threw into millions of living rooms around
the country and the world so people can go around
all day saying to each other, "ISN'T THAT JUST
AWFUL!!??!!" i don't want to spend my time every
day thinking about awful things, most of which
have nothing to do with me. there's an equal number
of beautiful and awful things out there to choose
from if i include monitoring the whole universe as
my daily responsibility. if i act and react locally
there's so much more i can do on the individual level
that actually has karmic value.

i still read all the posts here and i love and enjoy
everyone here... but i tend not to get involved with
issues or things that are remote... things that don't
involve you and me and us nnbmers. and i try to limit
my time and my scope on the net more than i used to
so i'll have more time to live a rewarding local life.

it's a QUALITY of life thang and how i spend my time
and what i fill my consciousness with is up to me.

<just rambling thoughts>

nnbm is like that too. most of the posts here are personal
and local. we have a good quality of consciousness here
and i enjoy that being part of my life. if my posts seem
few and short, rest assured that it's just out of courtesy
to you and the others here so that you can have plenty
of time left for your local lives... (like bumping into
real bodies and saying excuse me and being touchie-feelie
and stuff).
