do you have prison confused with college or trade school????? No, I don't. But if someone who is basically decent gets arrested, he is exactly who he was when he was arrested, when he is released. The idea of prison is twofold, to punish and where possible to rehabilitate. No one who cannot read when they enter prison should still be unable to read when they get out. We have an amazing chance to help people stay out, by teaching them how to stay out. And we don't make use of our opportunities. There is nothing worse than wasting an opportunity.
