11:00 EZM Eurozinc Mining -- Small cap mining play worth a look (1.30 +0.11)

Mining stocks have been strong the past few weeks. The big names ran first, but we have noticed traders starting to buy smaller, lesser known names in the group (over the past month: DEZ +70%, TGB +56%, KRY +40%, MRB +40%, NAK +31%... see our recent profile). EuroZinc Mining is worth a look. This Canadian co owns and operates the Neves-Corvo copper mine in Portugal as well as the Aljustrel zinc/lead/silver mine located 40 km from the Neves-Corvo mine. Both mines consist of poly-metallic deposits containing, among other metals, copper, zinc, lead, silver and indium. The co is profitable and posted sales of US$197 mln for the 9 mos ended Sep 30. The stock has been trending higher, but not as much as the others. It appears to be below the radar as the stock only recently listed on the AMEX from the bulletin boards. Mkt cap $699 mln, avg vol 264K.
