The corruption is part of the whole Bush-Cheney-Delay plan to wrest power and money away from people, citizens groups, unions, safety and environmental groups, then to rob the publioc wealth by energy gouging, privatizing government programs like Medicare and Social Security (very costly), and rewarding industrial-military corporate-energy cronies in every way possible, as well as rewarding the rich for already being rich.
Bushies also see politics as a way to get rich, similar to third world countries. And they see elections as opportunities to cheat. Anything to hold onto power, and they could care less about deceiving the people. Lies, spin and smear campaigns are part of doing business. Like their lie today that Clinton illegally wiretapped. They know it's a lie but don't care. They put out the lie to get it repeated to fool people.
In the end, if Bushies get their way, our government and environment will be completely looted and huge corporate cronies will own everything. So in a sense, Bush sees himself as CEO of the world, even though the only two businesses he ran went belly up. |
