Down here we just go a short distance and pick 'em for free. If we go to the local store we pay through the ying yang.
In the Central Florida region the growers don't even take time to bug the folks who stop by a grove and pick a bushel or so.
One orange tree makes thousands of oranges.
The local rains do most of the watering.
Most of my neighbors can't even use one tree's worth for themselves.
I live just south of the freeze line.
