Sure, but the accurate way to advocate improvement in a woman's situation in the US is to say that despite the fact that the situation in the US is amongst the best in the world for women, more can be done. Being disgusted by the situation for women in the US is like being disgusted by the Chicago Bulls for only winning 6 out of 8 consecutive NBA championships. You can advocate improvement all that you want for those Bulls, but you should still admire a job well done rather than be disgusted by it.

I'm all for continuous improvement (lived and worked in Japan for five years - they invented the concept, ya know). Its just a matter of attitude.
