Kenneth, when will you people ever understand SPENDING creates deficits not taxes or tax cuts. Every single tax cut from Kennedy's through Bush's has resulted in very significant TAX REVENUE INCREASES. The problem is our Congress follows that revenue increase up with EVEN MORE significant SPENDING increases. The Bush administration has been hampered by the costs of 9/11 both direct and indirect, the subsequent WAR ON TERROR COSTS including Afghanistan and Iraq as well as HOMELAND SECURITY, and SEVERAL WEATHER DISASTERS most notable the destruction of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast but also significant costs in states such as Florida. The ONLY major additional cost that Bush himself can be blamed for IMHO is Medicare Prescription Drug coverage. That is a biggie and will be in the future and can be debated on its merits and demerits, the rest of the spending blame Congress or events out of ANY Administrations control. jdn
