The company has $13.4 million in cash and short-term investments resulting in a cash value of $0.94/share. Its 1997 exploration budget of $2 million has yielded the following results thus far: Agua Verde porphyry copper project (100%) - drilling tested the potential of a copper oxide leach capping and contact skarn mineralization associated with an altered intrusive. Copper grades in the oxide target were subeconomic; however, grades from two holes drilled in the skarn zone returned intercepts of 18m at 0.7% copper (hole No. 4) and 48m at 1.12% copper (hole No. 8). Lara porphyry copper project (100%) - five RC drill holes testing a leach cap overlying potential porphyry copper mineralization returned a weighted average copper grade of 0.19% over widths varying from 137-222 m. The large size potential of this target justifies a second phase of drilling. We believe the country of Peru presents excellent exploration opportunities for a junior mining company. By focusing here, with a well-founded treasury, Peruvian Gold has the opportunity to develop into a sucessful company.
