Best unintentionally hilarious line in that story:

After his speech attacking Bush, the Republican National Committee issued a statement accusing Gore of having an "incessant need to insert himself in the headline of the day."

The Beltway crowd would kill their grandmothers to get the headline of the day. A news cycle they didn't script in advance is a bad hair day.

Whine, whine, whine. Though I suppose I might whine too if I was losing the PR game to Gore.
