I do believe there is room in American politics (lots of room in fact) for plain-speaking, hard-charging, honest politicos out to do well by their constituents...the American public and not the special interests.

I mean, just how many voters get passionate about a politico tied to KBR or Bechtel or Pfizer or GM for goodness sakes? They should act as if they were Al Gore and no longer in office and TAKE A BLOOMING CHANCE that their constituents are smarter than they think they are.
