R, that's the old dichotomy: <Labor, will not just go off and peaceably die while the ruling class prospers. Of course with no labor class to purchase goods, the capitalists will not prosper either. > No longer is there a caste system of capitalists and workers, king and serf, state and proletariat, master and slave.

I have always been part capitalist, part worker. Most people are like that. Few are outright asset-free poor workers [in the civilized world]. As a child, I collected bottles for recycling and used the money [and other cash from various enterprises] to buy a bicycle, which enabled me to deliver newspapers. That's capitalism. I used capital for production, hiring workers to produce objects for me which generated income.

There doesn't seem much risk of many at all not surviving other than by their own blunders [H5N1 etc notwithstanding - I mean by human competition]. Everyone can move their consciousness and assets to a good position, if they are capable and make the right moves. Which of course they won't do as everything is impossibly complex. I don't mean they'll literally die in the process. I mean their position will weaken, and they'll be the workers, not the capitalists. Which means fewer children as they won't be able to afford so many. The successful tend to be sexually selected.
