Mish, I wonder what your take is on the federal budget deficit this year. According to the mainstream media the deficit is running at about $400 billion. And yet the deficit for first quarter of 06 starting in October came in at $237 billion and between Jan and March they expect to borrow another $170 billion. That is 400 B's in 6 months ! Also, by looking at how quickly the total debt is growing and how quickly every new debt ceiling is being reached, one would get the impression that the deficit is closer to $800 billion.
